Who are you?
I started my working life at the age of 16 as a trainee surveyor with a building company. I did not stay on at school to do “A” levels, as I wanted to have my own money and freedoms like my friends who had left school and started apprenticeships. Being more academic than practical, surveying seemed a good choice for me and I studied part-time for an ONC in Building Studies and after gaining distinctions I went on to gain a BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying whilst working as a Quantity Surveyor for a National Building Contractor. However, after being made redundant during a recession which hit the Building Industry hard I made the decision to retrain as an Accountant. Instantly I loved it, this was the career made for me, and I set out to make a difference.

What do you do outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family at home and taking well deserved breaks to go on holidays with the family to spend quality time together. I support Arsenal FC and have done so since I was around 5 years of age. I love sport having played a decent level of Football and Cricket. I am now re-discovering golf having only previously dabbled a little in my younger years. Now the aim is to get my handicap to respectable levels. My music taste is varied but I truly love older music from the 50s and 60s, my idol being Elvis Presley. His motto was TCB (taking care of business), which is what I do every day.
