Tax Manager

Crouchers Ltd is an established and forward-thinking accountancy firm, providing a full range of accountancy and advisory services to businesses and individuals across the UK. We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services to our valued clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Tax Compliance

• Manage and review corporate tax returns (CT600s), trust returns, and personal self-assessment tax returns.
• Ensure all filings are completed accurately and submitted within HMRC deadlines.
• Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other tax-related filings where required.

2. Tax Advisory

• Provide proactive tax planning and advisory support to individuals and corporate clients.
• Advise on areas such as capital gains tax, inheritance tax, dividend planning, and business restructuring.
• Communicate complex tax matters clearly and effectively to clients.

3. Client Management

• Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted client relationships.
• Deliver excellent client service through clear communication and sound advice.

4. Team Leadership

• Supervise and support junior members of the tax team.
• Review and provide feedback on work prepared by others.
• Promote efficient workflows and uphold quality standards across tax processes.

5. Technical & Legislative Awareness

• Keep up to date with current tax legislation and HMRC developments.
• Ensure both clients and internal teams are informed of relevant changes and their implications.

6. Business Development

• Identify opportunities to expand services or attract new clients.
• Support the preparation of proposals and pitches for new business.

About You

• ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in both personal and corporate tax.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• A proactive and organised approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
